PENSIONER Saheed Hamid, 76, of Maida Farm, Corentyne, Berbice, was murdered about 02:00 hrs on December 2, police reported.

The police report said the victim lived in a two-storey building with his wife and was going to the outhouse in their yard to answer to a call of nature when he was shot by an unknown person or persons.
He was taken to Port Mourant Hospital, also at Corentyne, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Investigations into the murder are continuing.
However, police yesterday reported that a post- mortem performed on the body of Saheed Hamid of Maida Farm, Corentyne, by Pathologist Dr. Vivekanand Brijmohan on December 03, 2012 give the cause of death as shock and haemorrhage due to gunshot injuries.
However, contrary to reports carried in the Kaieteur News on December 04, 2012, the victim was not shot with a small calibre handgun.
Saheed Hamid was shot with a shotgun, as several shotgun pellets were removed from the body during the post- mortem.
Saheed Hamid was fatally shot while on his premises on December 02, 2012.
Investigations are continuing.
