THE High Commission of India in Georgetown announces with deep sorrow the passing of Mr. Inder Kumar Gujral, former Prime Minister of India, on 30th November, 2012.

Mr. Inder Kumar Gujral was born on December 4, 1919 at Jhelum presently in Pakistan. He held various ministerial portfolios, including Minister of External Affairs.
He also served as India’s Ambassador to The USSR (1976-1980). He was a prominent poet, writer and educationist.
He served as Prime Minister of India during 1997-1998.
As a mark of respect to the departed leader, a Condolence Book will be opened at the premises of the High Commission today from 10:00-12:00hrs and tomorrow from 14:00-16:00hrs.
