EARL Peters (no address given) was remanded to prison yesterday on two charges of simple larceny.
Before Magistrate Leron Daley, he pleaded not guilty to the offences, one of which said, on November 14, at Charlotte and Wellington Streets, Georgetown, he stole one BlackBerry cell phone and one shoulder bag, worth a total of $74,000, property of Catharina Prashad.
The other charge said he stole $920,000 from Rajendra Prashad.
Police Corporal Denise Booker, prosecuting, successfully objected to bail for Peters, based on the seriousness of the crimes.
She also said the defendant is a flight risk and gave the police an incorrect address.
The case will be called, again, on December 9.
