MINISTER of Local Government and Regional Development, Mr. Ganga Persaud has announced the appointment of Ms. Diana Critchlow as Town Clerk of Anna Regina.

Addressing members of the newly installed Interim Management Committee (IMC) in the Town Hall, at a training session on their role, he said the new appointee will be on probation for a period where the ministry will be looking at her daily performance in managing the municipal operations.
Persaud said the municipality has no division either by religion or politics and that is how he would like to see all councils across the country operate.
The minister commended the local authority for keeping the environment very clean and called on all municipalities to move away from a projected helpless situation in maintaining drains and canals and get machines and equipment fixed to desilt and maintain the drainage networks.
He said all councillors should have the interest of residents at heart and get a lot of work done to improve the image of councils nationally.
