GLOBAL Technology threw their support behind the Rugby fraternity when they made a substantial donation to the Yahama Caribs female senior team as they are scheduled to participate in the Tobago Sevens in Tobago next month. Yesterday, Manager/Coach of the side Troy Yhip was handed a cheque that will assist in the venture. The tournament, which runs from December 8-9, saw the local ladies win in 2008, 2009 and 2011. In 2008 and 2011 a combined team from Yahama Caribs and Pepsi Hornets competed under the latter’s name.
This year the top prize is set at US$10 000 with an entrance fee of US$600. There are currently seven players on the team to make the trip and according to Yhip, they are awaiting three guest players.
