A suspect has been arrested and is in police custody, as police continue their investigations into the fatal shooting of a 49-year old labourer at Aranka Backdam last Thursday.

Dead is Herman La Cruz of Port Kaituma, North West District.
Police said that around 19:00 hours last Thursday La Cruz was imbibing at a shop at Aranka, when he became involved in an argument with a man.  As tempers flared, the man allegedly shot La Cruz in his chest.  The victim was later pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, police are also said to be investigating the death of a man whose body was found at Bamboo Landing, North West District, last week.
