A man remains in custody following the brazen daylight murder of Marlon Osborne, aka ‘Trini’ on Wednesday at Laluni Street, Queenstown. He was picked up shortly after the execution-style killing of bodyguard to Ricardo Rodrigues. Osborne was gunned down in full view of persons on Wednesday in the city.
Police reported that they are investigating the murder of Marlon Osborne called “Trini”, 32, of Achievement Place, South Ruimveldt which occurred at about 14:00 hrs
Investigations revealed that Osborne was driving motor car PNN 9922 when shots were discharged from another vehicle which drove away. He received injuries and was taken to the GPHC, where he subsequently succumbed.
Osborne was sprayed with bullets from a high-powered rifle, and succumbed to multiple injuries while on his way to surgery at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
Osborne, who is said to be a close associate of the dead Ricardo Rodrigues, who was gunned down execution-style about two weeks ago at GMR&SC ‘Pit Stop’ restaurant and bar at Thomas Lands, was said to be his bodyguard.
Osborne was riddled with bullets when a hooded (masked) man, who was in another car pulled up, leaned out the window and opened fire at a grey Premio PNN 9922 at about 13:30hrs.
At the scene, yesterday, shortly after the gunfire ended more than a handful (about 39) spent shells believed to be fired from an M-70 or AK-47 rifle was scattered on the roadway.
Eyewitness told the Guyana Chronicle that PNN 9922 was about to turn out from a bridge of a residence when a car drove up, blocked its path and sprayed his motorcar with bullets from a high powered rifle.
It was also reported that just after the shooting two men arrived on the scene and took away a bag which was inside of Osborne’s car, but they were whisked away in a police vehicle after being searched in public.
