Mae’s capture Under-11 title at GTTA/Digicel Schools championships

IN RESULTS which came out of the third Guyana Table Tennis Association-organised, Digicel-sponsored School Teams Table Tennis tournament that was contested at the National Gymnasium last weekend, Mae’s Secondary defeated North Georgetown Primary to take the Under-11 category. Nineteen schools and over 100 players participated in the tournament which culminates tomorrow from 09:00hrs with the semi-final contest in the 15 years and under category between Queen’s College ‘A’ and Bartica Secondary ‘A’, and the Bishops’ High against New Amsterdam Multi ‘A’, followed by the final and presentation of prizes.
This year, there have been three new entries in Charlestown Secondary, Annandale Secondary and North Georgetown Secondary.

RESULTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
In the 11 years and under final, Mae’s ‘A’ (Jeremey Singh, Niron Bissu and Kaysan Ninvalle) beat North Georgetown Primary (Tyriq Saunders and Nevaeh Clarkston) 3-2, 3rd place went to St Anthony (Emanuel Atherly and Shemar Lowe) of Bartica and 4th place went to Mae’s ‘B’ (Brandon Jaikaran, Hewant Dalip and Navendra Persaud)
The 13 years and under final went down to the wire. Marian Academy ( Priscilla Greave and Kristie Lopes) got the better of North Georgetown Primary (Saunders and Clarkston) 3-2, 3rd place went to Queen’s College ‘A (Rajiv Muneshwer, Kim Singh and Clarence Bair). They defeated Mae’s ‘A’ (Miguel Wong, Jeremey Singh and Khalil Ninvalle) 3-1,
Semifinals: North Georgetown Primary edged Queen’s College ‘A’ 3-2 and Marian Academy surpassed Mae’s ‘A’ 3-2
Quarter Finals: Queen’s College trounced School of the Nations 3-0, North Georgetown got past St Stanislaus College 3-2, Marian Academy whipped The Bishops’ High 3-0 and Mae’s ‘A’ blanked St Joseph’s High 3-0.
18 years and under final went down to the wire, The Bishops’ High (Chelsea Edghill, Denzel Duff and Reon Miller) nudged past Queen’s College ‘A’ (Shemar Britton, Jamaal Skeete and Ryan Narine) 3-2, 3rd place went to St Joseph ‘A’ (Kevon Corbin, Kareem McKenzie and Matthew Brandon) gained a walkover against Mae’s ‘A’ (Stefan Corlette, Miguel Wong and Jeremey Singh)
Semi Finals: Queen’s College beat St Joseph High ‘A’ 3-2 and Bishops’ High ‘A’ beat Mae’s ‘A’ 3-1
Quarter finals Queen’s College ‘A’ thrashed Bartica Secondary ‘A’ 3-0, St Joseph High defeated New Amsterdam Multi ‘B’ 3-2, Bishops’ High trounced Bartica Secondary ‘A’  3-0 and Mae’s ‘A’ bashed Bishops’ High ‘B’ 3-0
