CAPE TOWN, South Africa – Rain played spoilsport yet again as the Group B CL T20 fixture between Mumbai Indians and Yorkshire was called off yesterday. Both sides bagged two points each.

Earlier, Yorkshire skipper Andrew Gale won the toss and asked Mumbai to bat first. Sachin Tendulkar was the first to go, running himself out after a mix-up with Dwayne Smith.
The West Indian however carried on, taking his tally of sixes to four, before hitting a full toss straight into the hands of the deep square-leg fielder. But he wasn’t the only Mumbai Indians batsman to fall to a careless stroke.
Rohit Sharma looked good during his brief stay at the crease, with some tidy strokeplay. The right-hander however got himself  yorked by spinner Azeem Rafiq, making room only to swat the bat on the ground.
Yorkshire at that point were using part-timers, for Ryan Sidebottom and Moin Ashraf were back in the dugout nursing injuries, a situation that the Mumbai batsmen clearly failed to exploit.
Both Dinesh Karthik and Ambati Rayudu gifted their wickets away to the slower bowlers, by hitting straight to the fielders within the 30-yard circle. Kieron Pollard looked different as he came out to bat with a skull cap on.
The big man took his time to open up,  so much so that the new batsman Harbhajan Singh managed to hit two sixes in a row, before he did. Pollard however took the cue in the subsequent over, going after Adil Rashid, striking two fours and a six, giving the bowling the respect it deserved.
Once Harbhajan Singh left, the rain gods decided to make their presence felt. Both teams went in and out of the field twice, before the elements made it clear that they were here to stay. Mumbai were 156-6 at that point, and there ended the action. (Yahoo Cricket.)
