NINETEEN-YEAR-OLD Ariel Khan, of Lot 145 Thomas Street, Kitty, Georgetown, was remanded to prison yesterday on a drug trafficking charge. Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, she pleaded not guilty to having trafficked in 26 grammes of cannabis (marijuana) on October 6.
Police Corporal Kerry Bostwick, prosecuting, said ranks went to the defendant’s home around 12:30hrs and, during a search, found a white plastic bottle containing leaves, seeds and stems of the narcotic.
Defence Counsel Peter Hugh said Khan is an events promoter but she was refused bail and has to be back in Court tomorrow.
