WHILE Madam Justice Diana Insanally is sitting on the Criminal Bench in Demerara for the first time, she has had experience in the criminal courts, since she presided over eight cases at the Berbice Criminal Assizes in 2009. When Justice Insanally sat for the first time at the Demerara Criminal Assizes last week, this writer had omitted to state that the learned Madam Justice Diana Insanally had been assigned to the April to June Criminal Sessions in Berbice in 2009. That omission was not intended to discredit Madam Justice Insanally, who has been held by those in authority to be efficient and competent. (George Barclay)
