THE United Federation of Arts & Culture (UFA&C) concluded another successful National Day of Prayer, the third of its kind since the need was seen by the organisation’s president, Mr. Vishnu Bandhu. The event commenced with a march led by the Guyana Police Force Steel Band from the Vreed en Hoop Ferry Stelling to the Best/Klein Pouderoyen Market Tarmac where an inter-faith service, which saw representatives from the Hindu, Muslim and Christian religions offering brief messages and prayers for the organisation and country.
Present at the service was Agriculture Minister, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy, Dr. Satesh Prakash, Pastor Paul Rampersaud, and Imam Naushed Ally Bodhoo with representatives of the three mentioned religious groups present.
Pastor Rampersaud in his presentation emphasised the need for us all to love each other, live and work together all in love for the betterment of our selves, families and more over our beloved Guyana as he offered a prayer for all Guyana, our leaders in government and families in concluding.
Imam Bodhoo spoke in detail on his religion’s thoughts of love and unity and living a responsible life, seeking the needs and helping others. He noted the need for us to begin in our homes, then to transfer the love to our neighbours and our communities which will at the end be consumed by our country. He mentioned the need for peace at a time when the nation is troubled by a lot of irresponsible actions as he offered prayers for the country.
Dr. Prakash who concluded the religious presentation mentioned the need for love, peace and unity as echoed by the two previous leaders. He noted that it is a time when we must pray for our families, leaders and government to have unity and guidance in making decision for us all. His message saw the religious prayers and Hindu rituals performed as the conclusion of the religious segment concluded.
Minister of Agriculture, Dr Leslie Ramsammy, the government representative said he was delighted to attend this National Day of Prayer.
He explained that we are living in a tested time where the enemies are working overtime to have us execute their wicked mandate.
He noted that we must continue to live in love and unity as he shared his experience during the march, where he noted that persons along the way complained of the turn out to the activity. He noted that it is not the large gathering which will make the difference but that it takes just one of us to start the process of change.
“We must work, live and unite as a family as one people, one nation and one destiny,” he exhorted.
A brief history of the organisation was delivered Mr. Vishnu Bandhu who spoke briefly on the objectives and achievements of the organization.
