VICTORIA Kings, Den Amstel, Uitvlugt, Pouderoyen Young Achievers and Seawall all recorded victories when action in the Stag Beer-sponsored West Demerara and East Demerara Football Associations continued over the weekend. Ann’s Grove, Buxton Stars, Plaisance and BV/TUFC also shared points as the weekend fixtures concluded with matches at the Beterverwagting and Den Amstel Community Centre grounds.
At Den Amstel, the home team, secured a 7-0 victory over Wales United, league leaders Uitvlugt had a 7-1 win over Eagles and in the other matches, Pouderoyen Young Achievers scored a 3-0 over Bagotville before Seawall secured a 2-1 victory over Beavers.
In the Uitvlugt/Eagles encounter, Uitvlugt got their goals from Dellon Lanferman (75th, and 85th), Jamaal Petty (12th, 35th), Seon Bobb (38th) and Delroy Johnson (82nd) while Eagles’ lone goal came from the penalty spot in the 59th minute, thanks to Keron Schmidt.
The league will continue this weekend with matches at the same venues at 14:00hrs, with Seawall taking on Pouderoyen Young Achievers and Den Amstel meeting Eagles on Saturday. On Sunday, Bagotville will face Beavers and Wales will do battle with Stewartville.
On the Buxton Community Centre ground on Saturday, Buxton Stars will face Mahaica Determinators from 14:00hrs, with the feature game bringing together Buxton United and Ann’s Grove.
Sunday’s action will take place at the Beterverwagting Community Centre ground, where Golden Stars and Plaisance meet in the opening encounter, before BV/Triumph United and league leaders Victoria Kings clash in the feature game which kicks off at 16:00hrs.
