BLOSSOM Holder, 31, of Lot 84 Fourth Avenue, Bartica, appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday, charged with felonious wounding. The indictable charge alleged that, on June 10, in First Avenue, Bartica, she unlawfully wounded Sonia Khan, with intent to maim, disfigure or cause her grievous bodily harm.
Attorney-at-law, Ms. Shellon Boyce, represented the accused and requested reasonable bail, to which the prosecutor, Police Corporal Simone Payne did not object.
The lawyer told the court that the virtual complainant was the aggressor.
According to Boyce, the accused was having a private moment with her reputed husband when Khan showed up, became upset and an argument ensued between the two women, during which Khan attacked Holder.
The prosecutor asked that bail be substantial, based on the medical report about Khan.
Holder was ordered to post $250,000 surety and be back in court on June 21.
