Youth camps scheduled for August schools vacation
THE Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport has scheduled several day camps for young people in Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam) during the August schools’ vacation.
A release from the Regional Administration said the camps will begin from July 9 and end on August 17. The first will be from July 9 to 13 at Mainstay Lake, while the second would take place from July 10 to 14 at Fisher Primary School, Golden Fleece.
The third is to be hosted at Mashabo Amerindian Community from July 16 to 20 and the fourth, from July 17 to 21, at Good Hope Primary School, also on Essequibo Coast.
The release also announced other camps at Siriki Sand Top, Upper Pomeroon River, from July 30 to August 3; Friendship Primary School, Lower Pomeroon River, from August 6 to 10; Marlborough Primary School August 7 to 11 and Wakapoa Amerindian Community from August 13 to 17, along Pomeroon River, too.
The Ministry said the camps will last five hours per day and target children between the ages of nine and 14 years.
