Senior Aussie cricketers make light of players strike suggestion

SYDNEY, (ANI): Senior Australian cricketers have played down talk of a players strike due to the ongoing spat with Cricket Australia over a pay deal.
Most seniors said there wouldn’t be any strike despite negotiations reaching a deadlock.
Senior cricketers were also not ready to comment on the issue, and none of them were aware of any strike action by the Australian Cricketers Association, with their deal with Cricket Australia set to run out on till June 30.
“It won’t be happening,” The Fox Sports quoted a senior player, as saying.
ACA chief executive Paul Marsh has assured players that there won’t be any strike, and it would just be the last available option.
“Our absolute priority and desire is to negotiate a resolution that works for both parties,” he said. But it takes two to tango and we’re still a long way apart … and there is a strong resolve among the player group,” Marsh said.
“It’s in everyone’s interests that we keep working at it,” he added.
