Sentiments expressed driven by envy, jealousy

I would like to respond to a letter in the Stabroek News, dated May 19, 2012, under the caption:  ‘Chicken pen continues in defiance of court order ever since 2010’. The sentiments expressed in the letter are expressed by one pestilent neighbour who is driven by envy and jealousy.

Mr. Editor, this grumpy old man has caused my business to literally close down because of him bombarding the authorities with blatant lies and dishonest information about my business.  Mr. Editor, I invite you  to make a  visit to  my home where you will see the remnants of what  used to be  chicken pens, what used to be my livelihood and my source of income  – all closed down because of this man for the past three years.
Mr. Editor, in today’s society where persons are trying to make an honest living, there are persons trying to pull  you down as you progress, and my family was plagued with some unfortunate events over the past year one of which include my father being shot and killed in the same yard, leaving me to provide for my mother and two brothers.  It is just a shame that this man is trying to pull hard-working people down.
Recently, I have restarted rearing approximately 120 birds for domestic use.  His allegation of smell, Sir, I leave that for you to decide upon your visit.
