Nicky’s Natural fruit Juices

… the home of fruit juices and flavoured ice-cream galore
WHEN they started off in the natural fruit juices business in Georgetown, Damion DaSilva and his wife Nalini depended on vendors to supply them with a variety of fresh fruits for their products.
But they soon found that most of the vendors on whom they depended were unreliable, and this was threatening the profitability of the business.
So a few years ago, the husband and wife team decided to cultivate their own fruits for their business at 7 Camp Street, Werk-en-Rust.
They bought three plots of land aback of Parika, Region 3 (West Demerara/Essequibo), from where Nalini  comes, and began successfully cultivating  their own fruit trees and have never looked back since.
“We grow  soursop, oranges, guavas, cherries, passion fruit, tangerines, pineapples, papaws, carambola, mangoes, limes, golden apples,  and sugar cane, just to name a few. So our business is really like a movement of fresh fruits from our farm aback of Parika, to our business in Georgetown, where they are processed to make fruit juices and fruit flavoured ice-cream.” Damion DaSilva disclosed.
“At Nicky’s, all our products are made from local fruits, one hundred percent pure, natural, properly processed, refreshing and nutritious,” he said.

The business has been making a name in recent times for the quality of its fruit juices and fruit flavoured ice creams.
The goodies include the widest possible variety.
“We have stuff such as awara ice cream, sour sop ice cream, golden apple ice cream, just to name a few, and all the juices and drinks,” Damion Da Silva disclosed.
But their specialty, a special blend, and the one they have been getting much praise for, is the Power-Up energy drink.
This comprises Quaker oats, peanuts, bananas and some other natural fruit ingredients that together form a drink, which
DaSilva says can energise a tired and  jaded customer at the end of a long and hard day, or do the same for  a not so youthful customer at the beginning of a long night.
Customers can also get pastries to eat while enjoying the fruit beverages and ice cream.
The business in Georgetown and the farm at Naamryck, Parika, provide employment for ten people.
Given the success of their natural fruit juices and fruit flavoured ice cream, the Da Silvas are setting their sights on the establishment of an outlet at another spot in Georgetown, possibly in Lamaha Street.
In the meantime, customers need not only go to the business and buy, they can also order quantities for special occasions at their homes or offices.
The telephone numbers at Nicky’s Natural Fruit Juices are 227-3880 and 615-8046.
The business is open from 09:00hrs-21:00hrs, Monday to Saturday.
