TWO men, who faced charges related to domestic violence, shared different fates yesterday, at Sparendaam court before Magistrate Alex Moore. One of the defendants, Jermaine Neptune (no address given), who pleaded not guilty to using threatening language to his reputed wife, Luanne Hopkinson, on May 3 at Pattensen, had the charge dismissed.
That was after the virtual complainant told the court she is willing to settle the matter if Neptune stays away from her and he undertook to keep his distance.
However, Neptune, like the other defendant, Winston Voucher, was cautioned about his actions.
Voucher, of South Better Hope, was placed on $20,000 bail after he pleaded not guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm.
Particulars of the offence said, on May 6, at Vryheid’s Lust, also on East Coast Demerara, he unlawfully and maliciously assaulted his wife, June Voucher, to cause her actual bodily harm.
He has to return for trial on May 28.
