FOLLOWING the hosting of their Annual General Meeting (AGM) and election of office-bearers last Sunday at the Dorcas Club building in Plaisance, football clubs affiliated to the East Demerara Football Association (EDFA), elected Rudolph ‘Figi’ Callender as their next president. Callender replaced Aubrey Hutson who did not seek re-election and will have two vice-presidents assisting him, in former treasurer Luan Gooding and Eton Morris.
Three new faces in Rodwell Lewis, Bonita Frank and Gidel Austin were elected General Secretary, Treasurer and Assistant Secretary/Treasurer respectively while Dexter Grant is the Organising Secretary with the naming of the Public Relations Officer to be done at the first executive council meeting.
The Returning officer was acting president of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Franklyn Wilson, who gave the charge to the new executive body at the completion of the elections. He applauded Hutson for the yeoman service he gives to the Association and Guyana’s football during his tenure.
