GSDF to launch lawn tennis programme in Linden

THE Guyana Sports Development Foundation Inc. (GSDF), a non-profit organisation based in Florida USA, in its continued effort to assist sports in Guyana, will be holding a RallyBall (Lawn Tennis) programme on Wednesday and Thursday for schools in the Linden area at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard court. President of the GSDF, Colin Baker, in a release said the main stakeholders for this programme are the GSDF, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Sport and Guyana Lawn Tennis Association. According to him the programme will start as a pilot using four schools having two teams each and will run for a six-month period in the first year. The programme will be launched next Wednesday during the Linden Town Week activities with officials from the respective organisations in attendance to give brief remarks and will be followed by a coaching course for Physical Education teachers.
On the following day, Thursday, there will be another Coaching course. However this one will target teachers and students.
On Wednesday the sessions will be from 09:30hrs and conclude at 12:30hrs while the Thursday sessions will be from 09:30hrs to
