THE Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation has selected members from the National Powerlifting team to represent the country at the upcoming 6th Annual International Powerlifting Federation (IPF)/North American Powerlifting Federation (NAPF) Caribbean Powerlifting Championships. The championships, which got under way yesterday in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands, will run until Sunday. Karel Mars and Germaine Snagg will be representing Guyana, thanks to Hand-in-Hand Group of Companies, who presented a cheque for an undisclosed sum to the duo.
In a press release, the sponsors said they were pleased to be able to contribute towards this venture, since the majority of the Guyana lifters are holders of several individual weight-class titles and records and wished both participants all the best in showcasing Guyana’s talent in powerlifting at an international level, while making our country proud.
