Man used mosquito zapper on reputed wife
A MAN used a mosquito zapper to assault his reputed wife, Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry heard yesterday. Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, made the allegation against Kelvin De’ Pleager, when the latter pleaded not guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Marcia Jordan on March 22.
The prosecutor said, that the defendant accused the woman of knowing another man and, when she denied the knowledge, he hit her with the zapper and injured her lips.
Attorney-at-law Mr. Gordon Gilhuys, for the defence, said the matter can be resolved between the couple but the woman maintained that she will give the evidence and a trial was set for April 23.
Meanwhile, De’ Pleager was granted $25,000 bail.
