CONAN Belle, 22, Bartica Regatta’s racing champion, admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital in a critical condition last week, after being involved in a motor cycle accident at Bartica has been transferred from the Intensive Care Unit to the High Dependency Unit, where his condition is now listed as stable. The patient, who underwent emergency surgery for severe head injuries sustained in the accident, is now fully conscious and yesterday was communicating verbally, but to a limited extent, with his mother, who was at his bedside.
He is being kept under strict medical watch.
Belle was injured last Monday when the CBR motor cycle he was driving crashed into a heap of scrap metal at the corner of First Avenue and Seventh Street, at Bartica. He suffered severe head injuries and a fractured left hand and left leg. He was rushed to the Bartica Hospital and soon after, evacuated to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Cannon is the eldest of three sons for his parents, Stephen and Zenelle Belle, proprietors of Zen’s Hotel at Bartica.
