… Ravi Singh arrives to defend his crown
AS the defending Group 2A and Go-kart champion Trinidadian Ravi Singh arrives to compete in the GMR&SC Club Day against his local counterparts, patrons can expect an exciting day of motor racing this Sunday at the South Dakota circuit from noon. Singh, who has dominated in the car racing, has made a significant mark in the sport here in Guyana and will be looking forward to excel in his performance, come Sunday. But keen competition is expected as the locals are tuning up for this event and will be going all out to dethrone Singh.
Despite the inclement weather pattern, fans will be in for a treat from the locals such as veteran Stanley Ming, Kevin Jeffrey, Mark Vieira, Marcus Fiedtkou and Shane Ally competing and to witness high class racing.
Among the other racers, fans will see the likes of Alex and Edmund Powers, Jonathan and Mathew Phang, Alex Fiedtkou, Mikhail Seereran, Denzil Hopkinson, Matthew and Eiliot Vieira in participation while in the Boys’ and Girls’ category Britney Seereram, Emma Vieira, and Serena Ming and Alexandra Phang will compete.
In the Super Bikes B class fans will see the newcomers in action and current champion Carey Griffith will be hoping to continue his supremacy over Kwame ‘Supa Sic” Ridley and the host of other riders.
Danny Persaud, Afraz Ali, Chet Singh, Roshan Ali are expected to compete in the Group 2A class for the rookies. The action will start at noon and is being sponsored by E-Networks, Banks DIH Ltd and GT&T.
