AFTER seven years of delivering a high quality print publication, Guyana Entertainment Magazine (GEM) is venturing into the world of television with a spinoff weekly entertainment programme called ‘GEM Live!’ A release from GEM LIVE! Executive Producer, Simeon Corbin, describes the programming as a dynamic 30-minute show consisting of interviews, events, fashion, sports and much more. The show’s host and production manager is renowned television personality Donna Shortt-Gill.  
According to Corbin, television viewers should expect the same effort it takes to deliver a high quality magazine to be put into the television production. 
The aim of the highly experienced “GEM Live!” team is to take people’s minds off their everyday stresses and frustrations by providing them with solid local entertainment for the entire family.  Local in “GEM Live!” will deliver an experience never before seen in local programming. Interviews would be short and witty, and done on location, he noted. The cameras will focus more on the interviewee and less on the interviewer.  
The release further stated that, from a technical standpoint, the distinctive set design, exciting graphics and theme music create an upbeat and memorable TV viewing experience for all who tune in to watch.
The programme, which was due to premiere on December 19, 2011 on NCN Channel 11, will be aired every Monday at 19h30 (7:30pm),and repeated on Saturdays at 16h00 (4pm) on the same station. (MG)
