Jerry’s off duty employee charged with burgers theft

A MAN appeared in court yesterday, charged with stealing two chicken burgers from Jerry’s Restaurant and Bar. Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, the defendant, George Blair (no address given) pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on December 12, he stole the food items, valued $1,200.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said Blair was an employee of Jerry’s, but that day, he was off duty when he took the foodstuff and refused to pay.
Blair was put on self-bail and the case was put off to January 27, 2012.
