Daren Ganga resigns as T&T captain

PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO – Trinidad and Tobago cricket was left shocked today as successful captain, Daren Ganga, announced his resignation as leader of the national team. In a statement released, the 32-year-old said, “It is with great humility and a deep sense of gratitude that I announce my resignation from the post of captain of the Trinidad and Tobago national cricket team – a position I held with pride, passion and commitment over the last nine seasons.”
While Ganga put in his resignation as captain, he has stated he remains committed towards Trinidad and Tobago cricket and will continue to represent his country.
He went on to say, “I have always believed that one of my most important duties as captain is to foster the development of players in my team, as a critical aspect of succession planning.”
Ganga led his country to many regional titles including the 2006 Regional Four-day trophy and two Caribbean T20 championships.
