KAYO’S Football Academy, based in the Bauxite Mining Town of Linden and run by current Golden Jaguar Kayode McKinnon, is set to make a visit to interact and share its vision with members of the Uitvlugt Warriors Football Club from the West Coast of Demerara on Saturday from 09:00hrs. Kayo’s Football Academy will be travelling with about 10 members and 6 parents and will interact with some 25 players and officials from Uitvlugt Warriors.
Apart from sharing its vision, the Academy will be exploring the viability of expanding the Academy, the first of its kind in the Country.
Kayo’s Football Academy, a prominent non-profit foundation in Linden, was initiated by Mr Kayode McKinnon with a vision to impact children between the ages of 6 and 16 with a view to moulding them into well-rounded individuals, through the vehicle of football.
McKinnon, a current member of the Golden Jaguars, in their quest for FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 glory, has been described as an ambitious, ardent and altruistic person who is the epitome of benevolence. He, along with volunteer coaches, parents and other stakeholders seek to realise the Academy’s Mission Statement and Objectives for the future human resources of the nation.
The outline of Saturday’s programme encompasses Techniques, Coordination, Motivational Speeches and Skill for Small Sided Games. The exercise which is divided into two phases commences at 09:00hrs and will conclude at 16:00hrs.
