TWENTY-ONE-YEAR–OLD Brian Sampson (no address given) was remanded to prison on Thursday, on a robbery with violence charge.

Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, particulars of the indictable offence said, on October 18, the accused robbed Nakesha Haniff of one gold chain valued $50,000 and, at the time, made use of personal violence.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the victim was a pedestrian when Sampson snatched at the jewel and when it got stuck in her top, he wrestled with the woman to take the chain away.
The prosecutor said public-spirited citizens went to her rescue and apprehended the accused, who has to be back in court on November 4.
