ACTING Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Thursday sentenced Dale Primo (no address given) to 14 days imprisonment for beating his wife with a belt.
The prisoner (no address given) pleaded guilty to the offence which was committed on October 19, when he unlawfully assaulted Rondha Primo to cause her actual bodily harm.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the husband returned home and turned off the music that the virtual complainant was playing but she put it back on and he became annoyed.
The husband said he was sorry for what had happened and it would not recur.
He claimed he did not turn off the music but lowered the volume because he wanted to watch television. However, his wife raised the sound about five times.
