LENNOX Tappin (no address given) has been charged with unlawfully wounding his live-in partner, Fonda Luke.
He appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Thursday and pleaded not guilty to the charge, which said the incident occurred on October 19.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the defendant and virtual complainant are living together and, that day, Tappin asked Luke for his cutlass but she refused to give him.
The prosecutor said he became annoyed and chopped the woman on her hands and waist.
Tappin was granted $25,000 bail until October 24.
