A CONFRONTATION between two inmates at the East La Penitence Night Shelter has led to one of them being charged with attempted murder.
Luke Lattif appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday, charged indictably with having, on October 9, with intent to commit the capital offence, wounded Andrew Anthony.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, successfully objected to bail for the accused and the latter was remanded to prison until October 31.
The prosecutor said Lattif became annoyed when the virtual complainant asked him something and stabbed the questioner in the chest with a knife, causing him to be hospitalised.
