Farouk Razack murder case postponed again
FORMER beauty queen Carolann Lynch was absent, again, yesterday when the murder case, in which she is charged with killing her husband, Swiss House Cambio owner Farouk Razack, was called.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, asked Magistrate Sueanna Lovell for another adjournment, stating that the accused has still not been located.
He said the police have received information that the accused is out of the jurisdiction and are making every effort to apprehend her.
The court granted the postponement to October 31.
Lynch first faced the capital offence in May 2000 but was freed the following year, when, then Magistrate Gordon Gilhuys ruled at the preliminary inquiry (PI), that a prima facie case had not been made out against her.
But a new charge was instituted last year.
Razack was found dead on the floor in the Eping Avenue, Bel Air Park, Georgetown house where the couple lived. He was bleeding through his nose and mouth and a subsequent autopsy established that he had been strangled.
