CARLTON Wheelers Cycle Club’s Robin Persaud on Saturday last rode away with the feature race on the inaugural UNITECH Awning sponsored cycling programme held around the inner circuit of the National Park, to the memory of the late Noel Persaud a former cyclist. Paul De Nobrega, Enzo Matthews, Ian ‘Dumb Boy’ Jackson, Michael Anthony and Albert Philander completed the top six positions behind Persaud, while Adrian Sharma had a double win in the BMSX 12-14 and Open categories respectively. The day got started with Isaiah Saul taking the 12-14 Boys and Girls event from Randy Haynes and Silvio Inniss respectively before Raymond Newton took the Veterans Under-50 event from Virgil Jones and Kennard Lovell.
Wilfred Thom took the Veteran’s Over-50 event, Maurice Fagundes the Veterans Over-60 from Anthony Fariah and Harry Lall, Raynauth Jeffrey the Juveniles from Hector Edwards III and Montel Anthony in that order.
The Upright event was won by Mario King from Julio Melville, while the BMX 6 to 9 category was won by Jamal Arthur over Denzil Huntley and Taran Garbarran, Yannick La Rose took the 9 to 12 category with Deeraj Garbarran finishing second.
La Rose and Christopher Griffith occupied the other two top spots in the BMX 12 to 14 category behind Sharma, while in the BMX Open category, Cleveland King and Hamza Eastman finished as first and second runners-up.
