PAUL Leo (no address given) was fined a total of $32,500 yesterday, for driving without a licence and under the influence of alcohol.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, he pleaded guilty to having, on September 13, driven a tractor with trailer, while not being the holder of a licence and his blood alcohol level at 77 micro grammes, which rendered him incapable to drive.
The defendant admitted that he was drinking, earlier in the day, prior to being held.
His fine for being an unlicensed driver was $25,000 with the alternative of one month imprisonment and $7,500 or one month imprisonment for driving under the influence of alcohol.
