Young fisherman found dead

POLICE are investigating the death of 20-year-old fisherman Raju Persaud, of Jibb Housing Scheme, Essequibo Coast, whose body was found Sunday morning.
He had left his father’s home around 18:00 hrs Friday afternoon and reports said he went “to lime” on the public road but failed to return home.
A cattle farmer going to tend his animals early Sunday discovered Persaud lying face down on concrete near a koker.
After calling Persaud’s name several times and getting no answer, the cattle rearer raised an alarm and many residents rushed to the scene to where police were summoned.
The deceased, the eldest of three children in his family, was fully dressed with a cap on his head and slippers on his feet.
There was no blood but what appeared to be an injury on his forehead and the corpse was taken to Suddie Funeral Parlour to await a post mortem.
