FOR quite a long time now I have been reading Mr Hydar Ally’s article in the weekend Mirror Newspaper. Indeed, I have always admired the soundness of his thoughts evident in his writing. Only recently, I was afforded the opportunity to express my appreciation to him.
Now, however, I am shocked and in total dismay from reading Mr. Ally’s views about the Libyan leader articulated in his article entitled “The Road to Tripoli.”
I cannot bring myself to believe that I was reading the views of the same person – an intelligent knowledgeable stalwart of the PPP/C. I kept asking myself how can this comrade exude such odious perception of  a man who for decades not only used the resources of his country to transform the lives of his people but he also championed the cause for the liberation of the whole of Africa and the downtrodden in many countries around the world?
Writing about Col Muamar Gaddafi, he postulates, “He is among the longest serving dictators in the Arab world.”
He asserts, “He benefitted from the oil resources of the country to strengthen his grip on power and has been able to keep any opposition to his rule in check through a combination of force and tribal loyalty and from among those who benefitted from his largesse.”
Editor, the above are the exact words of the American CIA and those who have slandered the leaders of countries they target for assassination or removal through subversion.
In Mr Ally’s closing remarks he writes, “Any individual or group that seeks to suppress such freedom is bound at some point in their political life to face the full wrath of the people in ways that they never could have imagined even in their wildest dreams.”
Indeed, I am completely bewildered! Are these the utterances of an educator of the people within the Third World countries especially our youths? From where is Comrade Ally sourcing his information about Col Muamar Gaddafi? Is my respected comrade knowledgeable of the intrigues and the trail of filth the imperial and colonial masters have wreaked and are wreaking around the world?
I am constrained to ask my comrade:
1. Have you read “The Little Green Book” written by Col Gaddafi since the 1970s.
2. Are you aware of what Col Gaddafi has been doing for his people?
3. Are you aware of the pivotal role Col Gaddafi has played and up to recently has been playing with respect of African liberation and continental unity?
4. Are you aware of Col Gaddafi’s role in discovering and exposing the crime of some American missionaries administering HIV contaminated vaccines to Libyan babies?
5. Are you ware of Libya’s philanthropy and unselfishness in providing economic aid to African descendants around the world?

You have lived through the massacre and destruction wreaked on Guyanese here between 1961 – ….. Are you aware of the authors of that tragedy?
Only yesterday the world became aware of the stench of American crimes against the Guatemalan people whom they deliberately infected with syphilis over 70 years ago. This very crime they had committed against black Americans during the 1950 – 60s.
Are you oblivious of the American doctrine of Manifest Destiny? Their Doctrine of Rendition and the New World Order?
In conclusion let me entreat my comrade to communicate with Mr Eddi Rodney. He has not only put in perspective the crimes America and the NATO nations are committing against the people of Libya but he also points to their global filthy footprints whose philosophy you have orchestrated. You will also benefit tremendously from obtaining and reading some of the sources Eddi Rodney has
