Important planned legislation to be addressed before Ninth Parliament concludes

Head of the Presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon has stated that the Ninth Parliament which will constitutionally end on September 28, 2011, will see important, planned legislation being completed in the National Assembly. This would include reports from Parliamentary Committees and the tabling of a Financial Bill to replenish the contingency fund in support of supplementary provisions tabled.
With the exception of planned financial papers, no additional, new legislation will be tabled during the recess.
On August 4, the National Assembly approved a motion for Parliamentarians to work through the recess from August 10 to September 27.
