TRACEY Hunte, 24, was placed on $60,000 bail Tuesday, when she appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, charged with possession of a narcotic. The mother of three minor children pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on August 14, she had five grammes of cannabis (marijuana) in Brickdam, Georgetown.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the defendant was taking meals to the Brickdam lock-ups and the narcotic was found when a search was conducted on the food.
The prosecutor had objected to bail for Hunte but the magistrate overruled the objection and transferred the case to another court for October 25.
