LEON Garraway, 32, of Lot 71 Norton Street, Lodge, Georgetown, was denied bail yesterday on a robbery under arms charge. Before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton, he was charged, indictably, with having on August 5, while being armed with a cutlass, robbed Deborah Caesar of a radio set, valued $120,000, amongst booty worth a total $145,000.
Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, was successful in her objection to pre-trial liberty for the accused, on the grounds of seriousness and prevalence of the offence.
The prosecutor said it is also likely the accused would interfere with the witness and he was remanded to prison until October 26.
