After workplace argument…

Teen charged with attempted murder of another
SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD Edward Keston, of Fyrish Village, Corentyne, who is charged with attempted murder, was granted $50,000 bail following a renewed application before Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo, at the New Amsterdam Court in Berbice on Wednesday last.
The older labourer is alleged to have wounded 14-year-old Damian Henry Trim, another employee of Arjune Poultry Farm, on July 20 last.
Police Corporal Orin Joseph, prosecuting, told the Court the teenagers were both  employed at the Chesney Front location in Corentyne, Berbice, where they left to fetch sawdust from a sawmill at Brothers Village, East Bank Berbice.
But, whilst there, a misunderstanding arose between them, because the virtual complainant made disparaging remarks about the defendant’s mother, the prosecutor said.
He added that an argument developed and Trim suffered injuries to his head, inflicted with a spade, causing him to be admitted a patient at New Amsterdam Hospital.
Keston, who was unrepresented by a lawyer, is expected back in Court on September 11. (Jeune Vankeric)
