England stars climb Test rankings

ENGLAND heroes Ian Bell and Stuart Broad have been rewarded for their performances in the second Test win over India with significant rises in the ICC rankings.
Batsman Bell, whose 159-run knock helped Andrew Strauss’ side to a 319-run victory over India in the second npower Test at Trent Bridge, is into the top five of the governing body’s Test ratings while Broad, who took a hat-trick in the match, is now third in the all-rounder rankings.
Broad is also up to seventh in the bowler ratings after his haul of eight for 76.
Team-mate Jonathan Trott has slipped two places in the batting ranks to fourth, a place ahead of Bell.
Alastair Cook has also dropped down the batters’ ratings, by six places to joint 11th having scored only 20 runs in four innings of the four-match series so far.
India batsman Rahul Dravid joined Cook in a share of 11th by climbing four places following his second hundred of the series.
England paceman Tim Bresnan leapt 14 places to 25th in the bowling rankings while his superb innings of 90 in the second Test helped him up to 13th in the all-rounder list.
