THE Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana (CIOG) wishes to advise all Muslims to look for the crescent for Ramadan on Sunday 31st of July 2011. If the moon is sighted then taraweeh prayer will commence on Sunday evening and fasting on Monday 1st August 2011.

If the crescent is not sighted taraweeh prayer will commence on Monday 1st August 2011, and fasting on Tuesday 2nd August 2011.

Muslims are encouraged to confirm the sighting of the crescent at the CIOG’s Secretariat on Tel #: 225-6167/225-8654, 227-1033.
