RYAN Seals, 22, (no address given) yesterday appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on a charge of larceny by clerk or servant.
He was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which stated that between June 20 and 29, being employed at Latino Club as a handyman; he stole $1M received by him on behalf of his employer.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, had no objection to bail but requested a substantial amount so as to ensure the accused return to court for trail.
No details were given in court as to what transpired on the day in question.
Seals, who was unrepresented, was placed on $200,000 bail and this was granted on condition that he report to the Brickdam Police Station every Monday and Friday until the termination of the matter.
The case will be called again on July 28.
