CONSTRUCTION works at the new state-of-the art in-patients wing at the Georgetown Public Hospital have been completed, and it is expected to be in full operation by the end of this month. According to Health Minister Dr.Leslie Ramsammy, this project was launched as one of government’s initiatives to make the hospital comparable with others in the Caribbean.
The minister pointed out that government has so far injected some $1.6B into the project.
As for further developments at the hospital, Ramsammy added that plans are in place to have all operations computerised soon, and a new, modern IT-based library is to be established.
The hospital upgrading project will cover a five-year period.
