TESSA ROBINSON (no address given) was remanded to prison yesterday, on a robbery under arms charge. In front of Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, she pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which stated that, on June 14, while being armed with a gun, she robbed Jerrol James of a car battery, a compact disc and foreign and local currency, all valued a total G$257,700.
Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, stated that the virtual complainant was driving a motor vehicle when he was stopped by the defendant, who asked for a drop.
But, once inside the car, she ordered the driver to pull over and took the property from him at gunpoint, the prosecutor said.
Pindar objected to bail for Robinson on the ground that the accused may tamper with the victim as they are known to each other and the magistrate, upholding the objection, put off the case to June 30.
