WHEN the now comically infamous KN ‘says’ anything, one has to be very careful. KN dispenses in a very authoritative manner, snippets, gossips and even figments, with such force and vigour; one gets the impression, that it is an omnipotent and omniscient entity. For example, KN’s Editorial, (Monday, June 6, 2011) stated that “another ship emanating from Guyana has been intercepted (this time in Jamaica) with drugs.” And that: “If we ever needed it, this is more confirmation that Guyana is an established trans-shipment point for drugs.” Well, both sentences are fallacious in nature. First, by focusing on the word ‘emanating’ one gets the idea that the ship’s origin is Guyana, and this is not so. The writer-schemer is trying to lead one down the ‘garden path’ but is being too obvious about it.
Secondly, how is it that being a ‘trans-shipment’ point paints one as a diabolical figure? For example, when a state employee is guilty of venal actions, this does not in any way suggest political or governmental colluding. Apparently KN chooses not to remember the many occasions when the President himself ordered investigations and fired employees who committed unforgiving errors.
Another aspect of KN’s nonsense is the leverage it gives to anti-PPP columnists. Instantly, Freddie Kissoon comes to mind. At the moment, his litany of perorations when describing someone is just too nauseating. Also, his lack of ability to ‘research and report’ on intellectual topics is just too patent. Only last week, Davenand Bhagwan and Vishnu Bisram debunked some of his most recent ranting, and with such civility too.
So the expectation is that KN will ‘professionalie’ itself.
