Crosse to lead Georgetown

AS was highly anticipated, Guyana and West Indies Under-19 middle-order batsman Kwame Crosse has been selected to lead Georgetown in the Guyana Cricket Board-organised, Demerara Inter-Sub-association Under-19 cricket competition which bowls off today at both the Guyana National Stadium and the Police Sports Club ground simultaneously.
The left-handed Crosse, who plays for the Malteenoes Sports Club where he had the privilege of leading that side in a Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) first division encounter, before heading to Dubai with the West Indies youth team early late April, also led Guyana at the Under-17 level three years ago.
Also included in the Georgetown squad for their first game against East Coast Demerara at the Guyana National Stadium are West Indies Under-19 leg-spinner Amir Khan who made his senior Regional first class debut against Trinidad and Tobago two months ago.
Alex Ramalho, Christopher Surat, Raj Nanan, Charwayne McPherson, Winston Forrester, Chanderpaul Hemraj, Pernell London, Mark Rhobe and Jahron Byron are all utility players who found favour with the GCA’s junior selection committee which is led by former national fast bowler Roderick Lovell.
The list of the 15 players who are asked to be at the venue for 08:00hrs today reads: Kwame Crosse, Amir Khan, Tevin Campbell, Winston Forrester, Neil Barry Jr, Chanderpaul Hemraj, Alex Ramalho, Moham Ramdeen, Christopher Surat, Raj Nanan, Charwayne McPherson, Mark Rhobe, Pernell London, Alvin Castello and Jahron Byron.
