Protecting Guyana’s security and sovereignty

Kerwin Dimmott is an American citizen who has been arrested and jailed in Guyana. The opposition parties did not protest this. Akbar Muhammad was detained by the police  on the basis of information received.  This man has a criminal record in the USA and has proven that he is not averse to engaging in unlawful actions; yet this man has the temerity to tell the authorities that he is above Guyana’s laws on Guyana’s soil, and the PNCR wants vindication for him – a recorded felon, which was reported by the Nation of Islam newspaper.
The police were executing their mandate  on the basis of information received.  They would have been derelict in their duties if they had not investigated the very serious allegations made against Muhammad; especially with Guyana’s past experiences with foreign criminals who murdered and created mayhem in this country.
By his own admission, Muhammad has been exploring possibilities of establishing a branch of the controversial Nation of Islam in Guyana.
We have had a Jim Jones and his lethal cocktail.  We have had a Rabbi Washington and his murderous goons.  We have many deportees who have ramped up the crime wave in Guyana in very sophisticated ways – and who are most probably funded from supporters in the USA.  All the foregoing are American products.  Guyanese have to be leery of another American organization which the current administration has reason to view with suspicion.
We do not want any imported troublemaker preaching divisionist theories to our youths. We have enough of them right here – homegrown and rabid; and the young men who listen to them are in the frontlines engaging in criminal forays as per directions given, and are destroying their lives and the lives of innocent persons in the process.
Guyana has many prestigious Moslem organizations who have the society at heart and who are engaging our youths in productive and moral ways.  Muhammad, a man with a criminal record, cannot stand alongside the moral giants who lead our religious organisations.
And America has a track record of unleashing its criminals and supporting our criminal elements to advance its own agendas.  Witness David Clark and other Guyanese murderous criminals who have been given sanctuary, even treated as heroes by the American administrative system; so Guyana has to beware of  wolves in sheep’s clothing who come to this country   overtly bleating  peace and who overtly trumpet war.
The USA does not restrain itself to any constrictions when it needs to protect its own security and sovereignty.  They cannot interfere when Guyana does the same.
Should the police force or the administration apologise to someone who is on the police’s radar?  Certainly not, because if Guyana’s Police relinquishes its mandate to protect and serve this nation; nor if the administration wants to retain respect for Guyana’s sovereignty.
